Ayodhya ram mandir officially most visited place in india

In 2024, Ayodhya's Ram Mandir emerged as the most visited tourist attraction in India, surpassing the iconic Taj Mahal. Between January and September 2024, Ayodhya welcomed approximately 135.5 million domestic tourists and 3,153 international visitors. This surge is largely attributed to the inauguration of the Ram Temple, which has significantly boosted spiritual tourism in the region.

In comparison, the Taj Mahal in Agra attracted 125.1 million visitors during the same period, including 924,000 foreign tourists. While it remains a major draw for international travelers, the Taj Mahal experienced a slight decline in domestic visitors.

Overall, Uttar Pradesh witnessed a remarkable increase in tourism, recording 476.1 million visitors from January to September 2024. Other spiritual destinations in the state, such as Varanasi, Mathura, Prayagraj, and Mirzapur, also contributed to this growth, attracting millions of domestic and international tourists.

This trend highlights the growing significance of spiritual and religious sites in India's tourism landscape, with Ayodhya's Ram Mandir leading the way in 2024.
